<br />
In a recent conversation someone expressed that they were so stressed they were trying yoga and although they didn't really like bikram yoga they thought they would start there as it only had twenty two asanas and they could have a chance of remembering them.<br />
<br />
You can not learn or remember yoga with your mind (among many of the physical benefits the ultimate practice of yoga is to go beyond the domination of the mind) and exist in a quiet, still reflective state.<br />
<br />
So when did yoga become dominated by the mind?<br />
<br />
Perhaps it began in the 17th century when the Western culture separated the mind from the body and man from nature. Through this dissection we also separated ourselves from the recognition that we are an ecosystem living within one.<br />
<br />
You only need to look at current research that has revealed that the earth upon which we walk is teaming with a biome that nourishes our own gut and keeps us healthy and vital. While we poison and pollute the earth we in symbiosis become a sicker and more diseased species.<br />
<br />
When the enlightened sages developed the internal practice of yoga it was in recognition of the ego and the need to still the 'monkey mind', they knew it would be needed in this world when they sent their direct disciples to the West.<br />
<br />
I met one of these disciples in New Zealand when I was seven years old... I am now fifty four, a significant number in Ayurvedic science. We are living in a time of great change, both in a rise of consciousness and mass destruction.<br />
<br />
If you are seeking internal peace and joy, there are many internal Eastern practices you can turn to. For the happiness you seek cannot be found in the external world, the journey must be inwards. These practices will support and help you with the understanding that it is enough to simply attend a weekly yoga class or go twice a week and relax a little in not needing to remember. For the far greater intelligence of your body through the nervous system will create the imprint within you.<br />
<br />
And what were the earlier paths of yoga?<br />
Hatha yoga, Ashtanga yoga and Iyengar yoga, the first form being the original form, from which all the other forms we see nowadays are drawn from.<br />
<br />
As always take your time to find a teacher that you can relate to, this is critical. A teacher of merit will always let you attend one class only to see if it is right for you.<br />
<br />
Happy journeying,<br />
<br />

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span style="color: #262626;">This post
arose after talking to a friend who was presenting at a Social Innovation
Conference in Scotland about how to change the world for the better.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #262626; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">The way
the world operates at the moment is unsustainable and leads to widespread
unhappiness and depression. </span><span style="color: #262626;">In a
monetary focused society it brings fear of never having enough and fear leads
to ultimate disease of mind and body, along with lack of individual choice and
responsibility.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #262626; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">This can
be evidenced by the spiraling rates of depression, anxiety, and stress related
diseases such as the rise in auto immune diseases, cancers, endocrine system
diseases, digestive, eliminative diseases, all arising from ongoing extreme stress
(from the mind not physical) <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #262626; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">A new
system would allow people to pause to 'catch their breath' and we would be dealing
with an improved mindset, yet we must still address the individual mindset for
real peace in this world. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #262626; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">For a
mindset that has not yet recognised we are all one and the same will create
separateness and conflict. When we cut a tree down we hurt part of ourselves,
when we poison the soil we poison ourselves.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #262626; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">This
falsified identity that we humans tend to identify with is, for here I will
call it the Ego. The Ego always needs negative energy and separateness to keep
it 'alive'.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #262626; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">The Ego
thrives in a chaotic mind and leaves no room for the bodily experiences of the
sensorial world, our sensing bodies which allow us to begin to connect with the
natural world and our inner selves.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #262626; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">If we go
beyond the Ego, then the beauty of each and every one of us is revealed. It
reveals our life's path and purpose for this lifetime. It leads to harmony and
peace between all animals for we recognise we are one and the same. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="color: #262626; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-bidi-font-size: 13.0pt;">For if
there is no Ego, then there is nothing I need to defend. One exists in a
state of being of peace inner joy and love. And one has access to the much
higher universal intelligence to guide us in this lifetime. This is for
each and every one of us in this fragile world.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<br />
I was talking to a friend the other day, who is having some problems in his relationship of four years, and I asked him:<br />
Are you at least happy together?<br />
He looked at me incredulously and said of course not.<br />
<br />
What is the point of life relationships when so many people exist in unhappy relationships. You hurt yourself and your partner and add to the cesspool of unhappiness in the world.<br />
<br />
Now can we take a step back to the realisation that if you can't love and respect yourself first than no one else can. If you can't put your needs and desires first than no one else will. And if you haven't found your happiness as a state of being within you, you will never be happy in a relationship because it will be a conditional relationship.<br />
<br />
To find your own happiness (not as a emotion, it is a state of being) one needs to focus ones attention inwards, this is the beginning of the journey of questioning and verifying your truth for yourself.<br />
<br />
It is not about what your partner does or doesn't do, it is about looking at yourself and your reaction and responses, it is an inward inquiry to peel back your layers of 'maya' to reveal the essence of your self. It is the beginning of self discovery and it is a particularly beautiful journey.<br />
<br />
You will also begin to notice when you are in nature or with certain people you feel 'stronger' i.e. more energy and then you quickly become aware when you are around people who drain you.<br />
<br />
If you are in an unhappy relationship it will be draining you, however if you are still enmeshed by always looking outwards with the associated fears then you will not see it.<br />
<br />
And what is the purpose of your life?<br />
Your life is a gift, born as a free spirit you are the vehicle for the expression of the full potential of yourself.<br />
<br />
Are we solitary in life? It is very easy to be by yourself, you can have some lovely conversations with yourself:) Yet we were never meant to be alone, we become thin and brittle and can never evolve to be all that we are.<br />
<br />
Why?<br />
Because there is an internal longing to connect, we see this all through nature, it is the yin and yang balance, it is the union and ever evolving spiral of energy we call life. It is the heart energy that is a cauldron of love and fire.<br />
<br />
Let us begin to redefine relationships as ecstatic loving powerful unions between two people, where each person contributes to the others individual growth. The dance of moving in and out in an ever spiralling movement of energy that brings each to a heightened state of being and potential.<br />
<br />
And with this ever growing awareness one becomes present with each other, not always lost in the chaos of the mind. In being present, how beautiful to be able to feel the thousand gentle kisses on the face, the moments spent together and the gentle caresses of two youthful spirits in harmony.<br />
<br />
Relationships not based on Self sacrifice but Self love.<br />

<br />
We all have creativity, we have a right hemisphere and a left hemisphere. You may in the past have heard that the right hemisphere is used more for creativity and artistic pursuits and the left for logic and reasoning but this is in fact incorrect, they do not operate separately they interact together.<br />
<br />
Just like the yin and yang symbol, the creative and intellectual forces are not separate they are intertwined.<br />
<br />
The minds 'maya' or ego will always reinforce separateness, division, comparison, conflict and issues of low self worth to uphold its false identity.<br />
<br />
The same false identity that needs to identify itself by the role you have in life.<br />
<br />
One of the first questions asked upon meeting someone is: What do you do?<br />
This of course is in order for the ego to then position itself against you, you are deemed worthy or not based on your profession.<br />
<br />
When we mistakenly identify ourselves with our roles it limits us and creates fear for the ego, for who are we, if we are not our roles?<br />
<br />
Try it now, stand in front of a mirror, take away whatever role you are in...be role - less.<br />
<br />
How do you feel, did you feel the fear and loss suddenly creep in?<br />
<br />
Try saying in response, 'I live life fully'<br />
<br />
That will stump most people for they can only communicate with labels.<br />
For it is not what you do in life that defines you, it is who you are.<br />
Humans are more concerned with having then Being.<br />
<br />
Writing this has been a creative exercise.<br />
Being creative is a balanced way of being, it is not limited to working with materials such as art or music or design, it is Being creative with life.<br />

<span lang="EN-GB">Twenty years ago I began teaching
relaxation to veterans and others suffering PTSD (post traumatic stress
disorder).</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-GB">One of the most effective methods to help
them relax, as well as using specific yoga postures was teaching the Yoga Nidra
technique.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-GB">The method of systematically relaxing
certain body parts helps the brain to relax and in doing so allows the entire
nervous system to begin to move into the para sympathetic state. This relaxes
the diaphragm sufficiently to begin conscious breathing.</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-GB">Lets begin here:</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">To be the observer<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">It began in my 54th year… umm 54 years of
living to recognise I have a body and a mind yet I am neither. I simply have
them to use as a sort of vehicle. A bit like an electric bicycle weaving in and
out of life, quite silently.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">Is there a moment in time, a beginning, no
rather a continuum, a cyclical continuum. Visualise an enormous three
dimensional game board with all sorts of pathways, you can customise your own
if you like, colours, fluorescent lights, hills, valleys, caves, deep dungeons
or soaring cliffs.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">Now plonk yourself anywhere on this
board...which pathway will you choose? If you have a fairly questioning mind
you will be very interested in where all these pathways travel, without
becoming too stuck in any which path. Along the way, with this questioning mind
you will begin to notice things, predictable patterns in all humans and you may
find after a while that what ever happiness you are seeking is becoming rather
illusive. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">Yet perhaps in the quieter times in your
life you experience the stillness and silence which remains constant, like an
old friend. You may begin to notice the deepening silence in these timeless
moments. And then you may begin to question yourself, why all this stress and
suffering? For in the present moment the beauty of life can be seen as it is,
there is no stress here. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">My work has been helping people see this,
when they came to me I helped them see that their perceived stress and
suffering were not caused by anyone or anything but by the creations in their
own mind. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">But nature was calling me, spend some more time
here with us, it felt good. You see everything is energy of some sort and nature
has its own which is simply as it is, humans on the other hand create all sorts
of negative draining energy. So I took a sabbatical and began to spend extended
periods of time at my property, 100 acres of paradise in Northern NSW,
Australia.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">Now while one is in nature the questioning
seeking mind never leaves...the ability to detach from the domination of mind
identification begins to open up naturally.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">It was around <a href="file:///x-apple-data-detectors/::0"><span style="color: #386eff;">1am</span></a>,
I was walking through a park (back in that human world I was worried about a
daughter late home so thought I'd take a walk through the park - illogical
right?) And as I was walking, I was suddenly that same person probably aged
around six years walking through a backyard forest. It was one and the same
moment, well sort of, only separated by forty-eight odd years...<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">I found this rather interesting, here I was
my mind full of projections on the safety of my daughter, completely immersed
in all sorts of terrible possibilities and amongst all that angst...a window
opened in my mind. I recognised that window was reality and everything else was
a story, a play. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">I witnessed in that moment there is one same consciousness
in life and while years may pass and change occurs, the one who is the observer
never changes.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">When a window is opened in consciousness it
never closes, light has been let in and that light just keeps getting brighter.
Of course life does not immediately follow a wonderful state of enlightenment,
rather it becomes abundantly clear which path to follow, a little like chalk
and cheese.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">It is often in times in life when heaps
of trauma seems to be happening for you, that if flashes of enlightenment
follow they are very strong. I think of it as the universe saying wake up, I’ve
been trying to reach you and you don't listen so I have to keep lifting the
ante to get your attention. And every thing happens for a reason for us to
learn from.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">So what has this insight provided? Simply
that the purpose of life, that eternal search for happiness is as simple as
living, truly living in every moment not in your mind, certainly use your
intelligence, meditation (silencing your mind alone will never be enough) but
silencing your mind is the beginning because it will quieten the incessant
repetitive boring and depressing pattern of your mind identifications.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">It came to me a few weeks ago to begin writing
again (this of course is a few years after writing a book which I thought at
that point I wouldn't need to write anything again). For those among
you who are more cerebral go to Amazon and look up 'A State of Mind - Happiness
beyond all anxiety'. Don't worry you don't have to be anxious to read it, but
it would probably help.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">I’m going to share my writings through this blog
for a while. Keep posted as the universe lifted the ante for me this year.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: Helvetica; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica;">One of my roles in life is a teacher and I
now have much to share on how to keep your body healthy and free from disease.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;">It has been a while since I've been here .... I have spent most of the last two years writing and publishing my book based on my teachings: I called it "A State of Mind - happiness beyond all anxiety.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;">The knowledge revealed in this book is not only about helping us to find peace and happiness in our lives... through this gentle evolution we will then begin to understand the natural requirements of the earth we inhabit and how to live in harmony not conflict with each other and nature.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;">I have now begun to record my weekly discourses which are based on the lessons and discourses in the book. These discourses will follow a logical progression and are being recorded live in my discourses with students. They will impart a tangible benefit to you as the receiver and help you get the most out of the book.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;">I am posting these discourses up on my you tube channel, I may also offer as an mp3 audio file.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;">The benefit of posting them on my you tube channel is if you subscribe to my channel then each week as I post a new discourse you will receive an email to let you know it is now available.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;">Please enjoy and if you find this knowledge valuable and you find it helps you live in this world with equanimity, peace and joy then please share it with your friends.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Helvetica;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #326fc7;">Here is the link to the first Discourse:</span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #4736ae;"> <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff8zgLphEH0">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ff8zgLphEH0</a></span></div>

<br />
Can you imagine, just for a moment to be able to live your life in this single present moment? To witness all the beauty around you?<br />
<br />
To be able to exchange words, conversation, feelings in this single moment with others, without the past and all the associated pain and suffering and the future projections dragging you down, clouding your mind and obscuring the simple and pure joy of our existence?<br />
<br />
It is possible, please take a breath, begin to quieten you minds, enjoy the simple things and soon I will be able to walk with you through the path of Self Knowledge.<br />
<br />
I have recorded 24 discourses in a written form taking you step by step through the logical pathway of Self Knowledge, this book will be available within six weeks and I will be posting weekly 'YouTubes' on the discourses. I will let you know via this blog and the other social media sites when the book is available through Amazon etc and as an ebook.<br />

conscious thought with intent. This thought then brings your attention
into the ‘feeling’ aspect of your body not the mind. It creates a gap in
the constant flurry of mind activity and gives you an opportunity to be present
in the body. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">

where am I breathing in my body? See, it is easy. Now do it again and this time
see if you can invite your breath to draw down lower within your body into the
lower belly. Now watch, observe the breath here for a moment.<o:p></o:p></span></i></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 12.0pt; mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">This in itself is a welcome relief
from the exhaustive process of living with a 'virulent' mind. Now if you wish
to stay in this space a little longer, comes the discipline of remaining with
the breath allowing no thoughts to disturb you.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">So throughout the 'working day' it
only takes a second to choose to become conscious of where you are breathing in
the body, the more you can do this the more you will benefit in your life. You
can create countless opportunities to be present with your breath; after all it
is with you all the time.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

I have written a book based on my discourses as a teaching tool, currently being edited, should be available within two months. This will be supported by a series of recordings of my live discourses with students loaded as 'you tubes' based on the lessons in the book.<br />
<br />
In the meantime one of the first qualifications of a student is to be able to master the mind sufficiently to 'quieten the mind' by choice. Ones mind must be open in order to receive this knowledge.<br />
<br />
This blog has plenty of entries to help you do this. The more you are able to access this state of 'no mind' you will find that the words and tools shared in the discourses will reach you and provide immediate positive changes in your life.<br />
<br />
Namaste,<br />

for you that vague feeling of is this it? Is this the sum total of my life,
what have I actually achieved; it all feels so meaningless, have I chosen the
right pathway in my life? You were designed to be master of your mind, in order

<span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-AU;">How do you

the nature of your mind and gain control of it you need <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">to go beyond</i> the current self-limited beliefs. You need to access
an open mind in order to use your higher intelligence. The knowledge is

<br />
<i>A man was walking along a road, followed by two foreigners. It happened that this man saw something glittering on the path. He picked it up, observed it and put it in his jacket.</i><br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>The other two, behind him, saw what he did and one said to the other: "A bad thing for you, isn't it?" But the other man, who was the devil, answered: "No, what that man just found is the truth, but I shall help him to organise it"</i><br />
<br />
All of your suffering, negativity and anxiety stems from what we can call an 'I virus ' in your mind resulting from falsely attaching to thoughts, mind and body. Like any form of great intelligence if you do not understand it, it will lead to chaos. With depression now being predicted by the WHO as the second largest disease after heart disease the 'virus' is growing.<br />
<br />
The reference to the devil is simply the 'I virus', the glittering object is the 'truth' which is available to you which rests inside of you, you just can't recognise it at this point as it is buried under layers of falsified thoughts with the associated stories and negativity.<br />
<br />
To find the truth there is a logical process through Self Knowledge.<br />
To be able to gain this knowledge without the 'I virus' corrupting it, the first step, the first lesson is being able to quieten and still the mind by choice. You will come to understand that the natural state of the mind is 'silence' with thoughts always available in the recesses of the mind. It is only falsified thoughts that crowd the mind.<br />
<br />
One must rest in the silence and space of the mind, in this present moment. The truth of the words shared in Self Knowledge can only be received from this space, not the 'maya' of the mind.<br />
<br />
Enjoy silencing your mind.<br />
<br />
Namaste<br />

<br />
Then I would say, then be happy!<br />
<br />
Your reply may be, how can I be happy when there are tsunamis in the world, my neighbours dog barks all night, the stock market is crashing... my ex wife is suing me...<br />
<br />
What you are actually saying to me is that you are basing your happiness on all external events and people meeting your needs. While you continue to do this you will be destined to unhappiness.<br />
<br />
Why, because you do not control anything outside of yourself.<br />
<br />
Self knowledge is the enquiry into understanding the Self where you recognise that you carry your happiness within you which is never subject to loss.<br />
<br />
Have a happy day,<br />

His work with sustainable agriculture had taken him to many countries. When he

with feeling and meaning. When he spoke of the Himalayas he revealed the beauty

able to provide the knowledge and the means of knowledge through his/her own
experiences it requires you the individual to use the gift of your thinking
mind to then reveal the truth of your own experiences for yourself. No one can
give you this knowledge. It cannot be bought or sold, it is priceless and we
each have it within us. Your destiny lies in revealing this for yourself. And

write a reflection, you sit quietly and ‘collect your thoughts’. This enables
you to remove the multitude of other distracting thoughts racing through the
mind and gives you the mental ‘space’ in which to write. Sometimes you may
close your eyes to bring your attention inwards. You instinctively quieten the
mind in order to be able to ‘think.’ This space or silence provides the
substratum for the ‘thinking mind’.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

and then stop it takes a while to catch your breath, to slow your heart rate
and to return to your normal state. Your day-to-day living may be very similar
to ‘running’. Your thoughts, speech and actions are continually ‘running off in
all directions, uncontrolled. You are very rarely ‘present’ as your mind is
full of distracting thoughts. If your mind is full of thoughts your mind is not
‘free’ to comprehend or receive this knowledge. Therefore we quieten our minds
in order to receive. We quieten our minds in order to be 'present' in this moment, which is the only moment we have, everything else is a projection.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

understand the nature of our minds we believe we <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">are </i>our minds. The mind is an extraordinary creative instrument.
Take a moment now to watch a thought … yes you can do it, a little like a
passing image on a<span style="color: blue;"> </span>screen.<span style="color: blue;"><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="mso-ansi-language: EN-AU; mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Self-Knowledge is
perhaps different from any other forms of self-help, meditation, counselling or
spiritual pursuits you may have encountered. Unlike other paths
of meditation which deal with quietening the mind only, Self Knowledge
recognises that quietening the mind in itself is simply the stepping stone to
understanding the Self, for thoughts will always be with us, we need them. It
is not enough to empty the mind of thoughts, you need to recognise them and see
them for what they are. You need to use your ‘thinking logical mind’ to reveal
the Self. Thoughts are there for you to choose to use when required, although
at this stage of your life it may be more like they are controlling you.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

work. Suffering from high blood pressure, lack of sleep and in constant
conflict with his wife, life is not going well. He goes away for a long weekend
retreat. For three days he is taught how to quieten his mind and find the peace
within.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>At the end of the three
days he feels wonderful. He has just experienced two full nights sleep, no alcohol,
and no caffeine.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>He hops into his
car and starts to drive home. However after 10 minutes he drives straight into
the back of a car in a highway collision. Infuriated he jumps out of his car.
His nice new Mercedes, which he had only purchased two weeks ago, has a full
frontal ding in it. He loses his temper and starts to scream at the other
driver. ‘You damn fool, look what you have caused! You should get off the road
and go to a bloody retreat to get your head in order.<o:p></o:p></span></i></div>

inwards to understanding the Self.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

you can choose when you wish to silence the mind, where no falsified thoughts
disturb you. You can think of this as kindergarten. This is the first and
necessary step required in order to go beyond your false attachments. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">

the nature of your thoughts you can now recognize your catalogue and patterns
of falsified emotional thoughts and begin to release.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">

experience an emotion by recognizing it and holding it up to the light of Self-Knowledge, then it disappears. Eventually you will attain ‘<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">samadhi’, </i>when you are with yourself in
silence as much as when you are with your thoughts. This stage is acquired when
you have removed all your falsified thoughts, so thoughts now rest in the
recesses of your mind as they were designed to. To be used when you choose.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">

This is a level of consciousness where you see
everything as it is, that is…. you exist at a level of higher consciousness
where you can 'see the nature of your thoughts for what they are'. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Remember the seer as opposed to
seeing, the hearer as opposed to hearing. So while you exist in silence you
also witness everything. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;"><span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Think of the blue sky above, in its totality and existence it can
see the clouds (thoughts) and the people, trees and houses. Nothing disturbs
the sky, in its existence all can be seen as it is, it does not try to become a
tree why would it when it can be a witness to all?<o:p></o:p></span></i></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">So why do you wish to limit your Self
to your body and mind? Your beautiful body and mind together, provide a refined
vehicle for the realization and expression of the Self beyond any thing you
could comprehend at this point.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">So sit in silence and once you have
silenced your mind you can begin to access your higher Self and question.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">If I recognise my happiness is not
dependent on external people or things then why I am I still suffering? If a
thought is just a suggestion why am I falsely attaching. The Self enquiry is
constantly inwards, use your notes, and question, question, question. Minds can
have very strong patterns, that is fine but in Self -Knowledge you can hold
them up to the light and verify them, then you choose in clarity and wisdom not
ignorance.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family: Helvetica; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">If you read your notes they keep
these new ideas 'fresh' in your mind, at the forefront of your mind, therefore
in the silence and openness these suggestions arise as insights or
realisations. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="mso-layout-grid-align: none; mso-pagination: none; text-autospace: none;">
<br /></div>

<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Self-knowledge is the recognition of the truth of who we are
beyond all identities. We feel this truth throughout our lives, you could call
it our intuition. Some come through this life time accessing this truth early
in their lives most only glimpse it and some come to a place of openness with
their minds to receive this knowledge.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ascii-font-family: Cambria; mso-ascii-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family: Cambria; mso-hansi-theme-font: minor-latin;">Once you come to this point you will begin to see evidence of this
higher knowledge around you. It will be like you have had shaded glasses on all
your life and a new reality opens up before you.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<br /></div>

then live in peace. Focus on your potential not your falsely imposed limitations.
Do not judge yourself on this journey, see every experience as an opportunity
to learn something from.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
